Purchased this to give some of my 3D printed object some ‘character’. Most of the stuff that gets 3D printed tends to look pretty blandly uniform in color – so I wanted to try to maybe enhance the appearance with this gilding wax. This is my first time using it, so I went basic and got a tube of the ebony tone. It’s a pretty small tube – but it seems a little dab does a lot. I applied it using a cotton swab – hoping to keep my hands clean. Helped, but didn’t work 100% – this wax is like liquid shoe polish (even smells just like shoe polish) – so I still ended up with some stains on my hands. Some plastic gloves might be in order.After applying the stuff and doing a bunch of buffing, it really does improve the appearance of the pieces. But I need some more practice applying the wax – I put on too much in some places and not enough in others. I like the effect and will be buying some more of the other tones to test out. I’m happy with my purchase.
